Moraga Mediterranean
Third Nature Studio has been working on transforming six acres of vineyard, pond, and horse ranch along with a house, guesthouse and pool for our Moraga clients. Our project began with a redesign of the main vehicular entry, and complete rehabilitation of an existing overgrown pond that is the focal point of the main house. We replaced the lawn with a smaller area of drought tolerant sod, introduced new aquatic and meadow planting to the pond as well as drought tolerant perennials and succulents to the entry. We reshaped the edges of the vineyard to better frame a new gravel gathering space under a massive existing oak tree where a new wood deck provides physical and visual access into the pond. Wide gravel paths allow for side by side strolls past the vineyard and the pond as well as ample room for farm equipment traffic throughout. We worked closely with contractor Adan Alcazar, pond contractor Aquascape Creations, as well as Walker Avenue Nursery to make sure we were selecting the right native, riparian and wetland plants for the project.
